Philippine Exports of Coconut Products Down in June 2025

Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority show the Philippines exported in June 142,904 MT of coconut products expressed in copra terms, dropping 34.9% from 219,409 MT in the same month last year. Gross export receipts, however, at USD296.412 million leaped 32.5% from USD223.758 million driven by high border prices.
The major exports reflected mixed trends when compared to last year data with desiccated coconut and copra meal posting sharp increases in volume traded. Desiccated coconut shipment hiked 14.9% to 13,462 MT from 11,712 MT. Copra meal at 24,382 MT doubled last year volume at 12,193 MT.  On the other hand, coconut oil export slumped 39.1% to 75,534 MT from 123,952 MT as well as oleochemicals which showed steep 51.8% cutback at 2,194 MT as copra from 4,552 MT previously.  
Other products performed as follows, in MT: coco shell charcoal 12,654 (-8.6% from 13,847 last year), activated carbon 5,800 (+31.6% from 4,408), virgin coconut oil nil (from 696), coco water 14,623 (+24.6% from 11,737), fresh coconuts nil (from 5), Others 18,719 (+2.5% from 18,270).
Total coconut products exports for the first half of this year reached 1,155,462 MT in copra terms, reducing by 16.7% from 1,386,532 MT at the same time last year.  Revenue at USD1.875 billion, however, shot up 50.6% from USD1.245 billion.  Breakdown by volume follows, MT: 641,512 (774,612 last year), copra meal 153,348 (166,590), desiccated coconut 76,024 (81,727), oleochemicals as copra 19,650 (30,633); Coco shell charcoal 74,876 (62,278), activated carbon 30,869 (24,958), virgin coconut oil 13 (3,937), coco water 82,402 (34,615), fresh coconuts 72 (83), Others 110,880 (109,487).
