The Volta Youth in Agriculture (VYA) has expressed their heartfelt commendation to President John Dramani Mahama for the initiative to distribute 3 million coconut seedlings to coconut farmers across the country, according to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) report on July 17.  VYA believed the initiative would provide opportunities for coconut farmers to enhance their livelihoods and contribute to the overall growth and sustainability of the agricultural sector.
Madam Joy Mawutor Fiamawle, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Association, told GNA that the initiative would have a significant impact on the livelihoods of coconut farmers.  She said that the VYA has vowed to continue the journey in agriculture with renewed determination in unity and support to enable them to sow more seeds of progress and reap a bountiful harvest in the region and the nation at large.  VYA has about 166 members who were business-oriented personnel, agro-chemists, and experienced farmers.
