Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in August

Export of coconut oil in August consisted of 73,178 MT crude coconut oil; 9,411 MT cochin (refined, bleached) oil; and 26,106 MT of RBD (refined, bleached and deodorized or fully refined) oil. The combined turnover of the coconut oil export mix was USD136.398 million.
Europe was leading destination responsible for nearly half of total lifting (45.9%) or 49,852 MT, trailed by the USA which cornered 25.1% or 27,241 MT, Malaysia 14.3% or 15,479 MT, China 6.3% or 6,793 MT, Sri Lanka 4.1% or 4,483 MT, and Japan 3.6% or 3,945 MT. Other countries took in smaller loads in the range 3-201 MT.
The bulk export to Europe was crude coconut oil at 43,865 MT (Netherlands). Other importers were the USA at 14,000 MT, Malaysia at 14,000 MT, and Sri Lanka 1,312 MT. On the other hand, the USA led in cochin oil trade at 5,333 MT, followed by Japan at 3,930 MT, while limited quantities went to China at 101 MT, and South Korea at 47 MT.
Meanwhile, RBD coconut oil deliveries went to 18 various destinations led by the USA at 7,908 MT, tracked by China at 6,692 MT, Europe 5,987 MT (Estonia 5,001, Netherlands 365, Belgium 339, Slovenia 124, Germany 58, France 42, Bulgaria 39, United Kingdom 20), and Sri Lanka 3,170 MT, and Malaysia 1,479 MT which were the market leaders during the month. Smaller volumes went to Singapore 201 MT, Canada 197 MT, Australia 144 MT, Iran 103 MT, Taiwan 78 MT and eight others which took in orders ranging 3-44 MT. The group consisted of South Africa, Pakistan, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Japan, New Zealand, Israel.
