Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in September
Thursday, January 12, 2023Export of coconut oil in September consisted of 57,971 MT crude coconut oil, 13,008 MT cochin (refined, bleached) coconut oil, and 7,839 MT RBD (refined, bleached and deodorized or fully refined) coconut oil. The combined value of the coconut oil mix was USD101.698 million.
Europe was leading export destination responsible for more than half (56.1%) of total shipment or 44,235 MT; followed by the US at 18,497 MT (23.5%), Indonesia 8,023 MT (10.2%), China 4,152 MT (5.3%), Japan 3,072 MT (3.9%) which comprised the top five markets.
Export to Europe was largely crude coconut oil at 41,876 MT (Netherlands 31,376, Italy 7,000, Spain 3,500). Indonesia was second biggest crude coconut oil importer during the month at 8,023 MT, closely followed by the US at 8,000 MT, while China took in limited amount at 72 MT. On the other hand, the US and Japan were the only markets for cochin oil, thereof the former held 10,030 MT and Japan 2,978 MT.
RBD coconut oil counted 16 outlets in September led by China which cornered 4,080 MT, tracked by Europe at 2,359 MT (Greece 2,000, Netherlands 167, Spain 75, Bulgaria 39, Slovak Republic 35, Hungary 24, Germany 19). Other destinations were the US 467 MT, Taiwan 205 MT, Bangladesh 137 MT, Australia 105 MT, Japan 94 MT, Vietnam 88 MT, Pakistan 84 MT, Malaysia 55 MT, Canada 50 MT, Hong Kong 44 MT, Brazil 42 MT, South Africa 19 MT, New Zealand 5 MT, Singapore 4 MT.
