...Coconut Water Concentrates is Second Biggest Non-Traditional Export

Philippine Statistics Authority data also showed coconut water concentrates was second biggest export item among the Philippines non-traditional products in 2021 with gross export proceeds reaching USD89.564 million FOB from delivery of 88,425 MT.  However, unlike virgin coconut oil, both turnover and volume traded of coconut water concentrates during the year declined from prior year.  Turnover was 10.1% lower compared to the preceding year at USD99.657 million while tonnage was 12.7% down from 101,339 MT.
The product was shipped to 35 various countries abroad led by the United States which also headed the list in 2020.  The top five country buyers maintained last year positions. Imports in 2021 were as follows: United States 53,485 MT, Canada 4,508 MT, and Australia 3,103 MT.  Except for the United Kingdom, these countries had reduced uptake compared to prior year. The next two major importers were China and France.  The former took in 2,599 MT, lower than last year, and France 1,192 MT above year-ago.
Based on data in the last three years, new importers in 2021 were Mexico, Indonesia, Bolivia and Israel; while Sweden resumed buying again since the last purchase in 2019.
