...Virgin Coconut Oil Export Likewise Up in January
Thursday, May 16, 2019Figures from Sri Lanka’s Coconut Development Authority also show the country’s export of virgin coconut oil accumulated to 890 MT in January this year, slightly up by 2.1% from similar month year-ago at 872 MT. Revenue at USD3.789 million dropped by 20.1% from the previous year at USD4.781 million. Computed average traded price at USD4,257.70/MT FOB was down by 21.7% from prior year at USD5,437.68/MT.
Export during the month went to at least 28 countries. The top two country buyers together were responsible for 52.5% of total trade: the United States with uptake at 335 MT (37.6%) and Germany at 133 MT (14.9%). The remaining 26 countries which aggregately accounted for 47.5% took in volume ranging 1-71 MT.
