Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in March

Export of coconut oil in March consisted of 55,299 MT crude coconut oil, 26,415 MT cochin (refined, bleached) oil, and 1,134 MT of RBD (refined, bleached and deodorized) oil, the combined value of which was USD106.408 million.  Europe remained leading destination with 46,706 MT of combined three types of oil respresenting 56.4% of total. Export to the US at 24,612 MT accounted for 29.7%.  Japan was third biggest outlet with 5,189 MT, followed by Indonesia with 5,000 MT, China 989 MT, Sri Lanka 275 MT. 

Export to Europe was largely crude coconut oil, amounting to 44,514 MT during the month (Netherlands 31,014, Spain 9,500, Germany 4,000).  Other crude coconut oil buyers were the US with 5,785 MT, and Indonesia 5,000 MT.  On the other hand, export to the US was largely cochin oil at 18,535 MT.  Other importers were Japan at 5,150 MT, Europe 2,000 MT (Netherlands), China 525 MT, Sri Lanka 148 MT, Mexico 56 MT.  China was top market for RBD oil with 464 MT, trailed by the US with 292 MT, Europe 193 MT (Netherlands), Sri Lanka 126 MT, Japan 39 MT, South Africa 19 MT.
