The United Coconut Associations of the Philippines, Inc. (UCAP), a non-stock, non-profit private organization, was established to unite all various sectors of the coconut industry and work for their common good; serve as center of information about the coconut and related subjects; provide a forum for the coconut industry and/or any of its sectors; among others.
UCAP's daily activities is undertaken
by a UCAP Secretariat headed by an Executive Director. The Secretariat provides UCAP members, government entities, and international organization with a variety of services pertinent to production, trade, processing, policy research, library facilities; an industry club; and regularly circulated publications. Monitoring both the local and external markets is a major concern of the UCAP Secretariat and information dissemination is a complimentary task. It also operates an industry club called COCOHOUSE, to provide its members and industry guests an opportunity to socialize and exchange ideas and information on the latest development affecting the industry and the national and world economy. UCAP is the liaison office of the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats (FOSFA) International, based in London, in the Philippines and one of the founding members of the ASEAN Vegetable Oils Club (AVOC). |
