Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in January

Export of coconut oil in January consisted largely of crude coconut oil at 60,993 MT, cochin (Refined, Bleached) oil at 21,433 MT, and RBD (Refined, Bleached, Deodorized) oil at 1,147 MT, the combined value of which was USD129.456 million.  Europe was top destination at 44,434 MT of the oil mix (53.2% market share), trailed by the US at 34,886 MT (41.7%), and Japan at 3,764 MT (4.5%).  

Europe and US shared the crude coconut oil market with the former accounting for the bulk at 41,873 MT (Netherlands 33,873, Italy 8,000).  The US took in 19,120 MT.  On the other hand, the US was leading importer of cochin oil at 15,150 MT, trailed by Japan at 3,764 MT and Europe at 2,519 MT (Netherlands 2,500, Denmark 19).  The US also led in RBD coconut oil at 617 MT, followed by China at 267 MT, Sri Lanka at 59 MT, Iran 46 MT, Europe 42 MT (Netherlands), Canada 26 MT, Malaysia 20 MT, South Africa 19 MT, Ecuador 16 MT, Taiwan 15 MT, Australia 10 MT, New Zealand 9 MT.
