DESTINATIONS OF COCONUT OIL EXPORT IN MAY

Export of coconut oil in May at 57,160 MT consisted of 39,254 MT crude coconut oil, 15,332 MT cochin (refined, bleached) oil, and 2,574 MT RBD (refined, bleached and deodorized) oil, the combined value of which being USD95.658 million.  Europe remained the market leader at 39,828 MT (69.7% market share), followed by the US at 10,932 MT (19.1%), Japan at 4,699 MT (8.2%), and China at 819 MT (1.4%).  Other destinations had market shares of less than 1%.     

All of the month’s export of crude coconut oil went to Europe, specifically to Netherlands 31,254 MT, Italy 6,000 MT and Germany 2,000 MT.  The US and Japan were the only outlets for cochin oil with the bulk at 10,681 MT going to US and the remainder at 4,651 MT to Japan.  On the other hand,  China was leading market for RBD oil at 819 MT, followed by Europe 574 MT (Netherlands 314, Poland 144, Germany 77, Hungary 20, Denmark 19), Malaysia 302 MT, US 251 MT, Taiwan 144 MT, Canada 83 MT, Pakistan 81 MT, Vietnam 69 MT, Bangladesh 61 MT, Japan 48 MT, Russia 43 MT, Sri Lanka 42 MT, South Africa 19 MT, Lebanon 16 MT and Singapore 15 MT.
